Q4.1 How do I tell how powerful a non-player character is?
Well, you can just attack it :) Alternatively, LOOK at it and CONSIDER it.
Watch out - some may attack you first!
Q4.2 How do ATTACK BONUS and DEFENCE BONUS work?
The exact formula is a secret, but generally your opponent's DEFENCE BONUS
is subtracted from your ATTACK BONUS in order to determine the probability
of your making a successful attack.
that person).
Q4.3 How do I cast two spells in a single melee round?
HELP DOUBLE CASTING. You need to be grouped, and you need to be standing
behind another person. Then, remove your weapon - you can now double cast!
Q4.4 Why do I suffer more lag when in combat?
This is a function of the combat system. Combat commands, and certain
other types of commands, lag you for a pre-determined period of time, and
some more than others. Otherwise, combat would degenerate into a situation
where the fastest spammer wins.
Q4.5 What equipment can I swap when in combat?
You can only swap out your weapons and/or your held items. All other
equipment cannot be swapped when in combat.
Q4.6 How do I know when my opponent is going to die?
You will get regular messages on the condition of your opponent. It's
pretty obvious - if they are in "excellent condition" they are undamaged,
but if they are "clinging to life" they're gonna drop.
Q4.7 Is there any way to see the degree of melee damage I'm doing?
You can tell from your damage messages. HELP DAMAGE.
Q4.8 How do I engage another player character in combat?
You can engage another player character in a PK zone (NPK, SPK or CPK) or
if your house is engaged in diplomatic hostilities with the other player
character's house. Make sure you read HELP PKRULES.
