The First Age of Man
A
fter the psionisists were destroyed the world was thrown into a
great chaos. The remnants of the noble houses formed scattered clans that
waged great battles and fiercly fought over their territory. The hunters
that had for years worked as hired assassins slipped away into shadows and
into legend. Heroes wandered the world seeking out Necromium with which
to make great weapons of war with which they waged vicious duels and battles.
In all it was a dark time and the hearts of men grew violent and evil.
The gods looked down on the world and wept. Rivers of blood filled the
once clean and peaceful streets while brother killed brother and sister
killed sister. Even the gods began to fight, arguing viciously about the
world and the evil that was emerging. Some tried to flee across the seas to
the lands of Haedoken as refugees, while those at the north end of the great
road were isolated when Treestump tore asunder the evil lands of the north,
creating the continent known as Vaandergash.
Finally the gods reached down with a great hand and punished the first
men for their greed. The great weapons of war were destroyed, and all the
belongings of the humans dissolved into dust. Humans once wealthy with mounds
of gold found their wallets filled with nothing but dust. Mankind had
angered the gods, and so it was that in the coldest month of the year that
the humans were cast naked into the wilderness in punishment. Such penance
did they serve and many of the first of the men went into the great wilderness
never to return... such did the first age of man end.
