The Legend of the Necromicon
W
hen the gods sought to first transmute the great material known as
Necromium the first thing they managed to create was a great book they called
the "Necromicon" in honor of that from which it was formed. The book was
written in a mystical language and detailed the history of the world past,
present, and future. Its history was so accurate that it even foretold
its own destruction.
Because of its depth and detail it was impossible for anyone, mortal or
immortal, to read the book in it's entirely. But many gods tried and spent
ages in its pages learning details on things that were yet to be. But as
with all things of power a great jealousy arose. Although attempts had been
made to copy the Necromicon, it still remained impossible for but a single
god to read it at a time. Jealousy lead to anger, and anger led to strife.
Soon the gods turned on themselves and tore at the book from all sides,
shattering the book into a infinity of fragments that sped to the corners
of the universe, lost forever. The only fragment left with the gods was one
cryptic passage stating that the book would never be whole again.
