The Second Age of Man
A
fter the great cataclysm of the first age a great darkness covered the
lands and sorrowful cries filled the night air. Many of the first heroes of
mankind disappeared and many gods did too. Treestump crept into the shadows,
an opportunity taken by Zari to descend upon the world to attempt to rebuild
what was lost. Imposing strict laws mixed with a great degree of kindness
the world soon began to heal. Soon trade and travel returned to the lands
and the great darkness subsided.
Yet, this peace was not to last. Zari dared to allow humans into
the great circle of power, and soon powerful humans walked the world with
the spoils of this sacred place. Treestump emerged from the shadows and
a great strife began amongst the gods. In the end Zari retreated into the
hidden wildernesses of Haedoken, never to be seen again. For the world a
great change took place as the old laws were discarded while greed and anger
once again entered the world.
Soon the great gods of the first age disappeared into the shadows and
began to watch the world from afar. Fear ran wild that the gods had
abandoned the world. A great sadness filled the world and soon the very
spirit of mankind was failing. The gods looked down from above and decided
to take action. A great cloud descended onto the world and filled the minds
of men with a great forgetfulness. The history and memories of men were now
clouded and forgotten. Things men once knew would have to be relearned.
And so was the second age forgotten and the third age born.
